OUR VISION

 

To act as an ally to the youth, offering assistance that will engender a greater understanding and desire to emerge as successful and productive members of our society by supplying them with valuable tools and resources.

 

MISSION

 

To empower our youth by providing quality educational and life skills that will enable our youths to reach their maximum potential as the next generation of leaders for our communities.

  • Too Good for Drugs – Developing youth’s personal and interpersonal skills to resist peer pressures, goal setting, decision making, bonding with others, having respect for self and others, managing emotions, effective communication, and social interactions. The program also provides information about the negative consequences of drug use and the benefits of a nonviolent, drug-free lifestyle.

  • Steps to Respect – Promoting healthy decision making skills to prevent negative behaviors such as bullying and violence.

  • Botvin’s Life Skills/Second Step - Developing socioemotional skills aimed at reducing impulsive and aggressive behavior while increasing social competence. The program builds on cognitive behavioral intervention models integrated with social learning theory, empathy research, and social information-processing theories.

  • Boy’s Council/Girl’s Circle – Connecting youth with peers and adults of the same sex to help build self-esteem, establish authentic connections, and practice genuine self-expression through verbal and creative activities.
